Who is PCCS-Linux ?
|
|
We're a group of Computing Professionals who spend most of our time supporting Microsoft products. As a result of that experience, we found that the TCO of running an all Microsoft Network is very high, not very stable and there had to be another solution.
We looked at what Network services Microsoft products provided and replicated those services, lowering the TCO using Linux. We don't attempt to Master the Linux OS, we Specialize in the installation of certian network server configurations.

What is L.A.M.P ?
|

Linux is a multi-user, multi-tasking operating system that runs on many platforms, including Intel, Motorola MC68K, DEC Alpha, and PowerPC. It implements a superset of the POSIX standard. Linux interoperates well with other operating systems, including those from Apple, Microsoft, and Novell.
Apache httpd server is a powerful, flexible, HTTP/1.1 compliant web server, is highly configurable and extensible with third-party modules, can be customised by writing 'modules' using the Apache module API,provides full source code and comes with an unrestrictive license runs on Windows NT/9x, Netware 5.x, OS/2, and most versions of Unix, as well as several other operating systems
MySQL is a very fast, multi-threaded, multi-user, and robust SQL (Structured Query Language) database server.
PHP is a server-side, cross-platform, HTML embedded scripting language.

The script also takes the application's DB schema dump and creates the tables for the applications, and returns to a help page and URL link to the main page of the application

PCCS MySQL Database Admin Tool is a Web-based MySQL database admin tool written in PHP. It is being designed as a tool for managing USER connections to the MySQL DB. Features include user connection management using GRANT SQL statements, backup databases to tar-GZIP, view database schema, optimize table, GRANT/REVOKE permissions on a table, flushing support for internal MySQL tables, a Web hosting admin tool, and Web host DB creation on the fly.

This is one of those MS office wizarded databases, ported to PHP/MySQL just to be doing something.
AS-IS no support.... FINAL release...
I enjoy sitting down hacking PHP, so I set down and ported the database to MySQL and wrapped PHP around it and it only took about 3 days.... There is no support for this application, it allows inserts, deletes, selects, etc... The application is built around some functions that I hacked together.
